History: Part of the Pocahontas County Library system, Green Bank Public Libary was established in 1960 in the National Radio Astronomy Observatory. In 1976, it received an instant carousel building, and three years later an addition was attached. The Green Bank Public Library is one of 5 libraries in the county along with the main facility in Marlinton and branches in Durbin, Hillsboro and Linwood. The system serves over 9,000 area residents.
